Meet Edson Ludowika
Founder of Son Del Mambo Dance Company
Born on the sunny Caribbean island of Curaçao, Edson Ludowika was surrounded by rhythm and dance from the very beginning. The island’s music and culture shaped his early connection to movement — a connection that quickly grew into a lifelong passion.
In his youth, Edson discovered the vibrant world of hip hop and breakdance, diving deep into the styles that would lay the foundation for his dance journey. With years of experience under his belt, he began exploring other dance forms, driven by a desire to continuously evolve and challenge the norm. While hip hop remains close to his heart, Edson’s creative curiosity led him to study a wide range of styles — enriching his choreographic voice and setting him apart from the mainstream.
As a choreographer and teacher, Edson has earned recognition within the urban and hip hop dance community, working on various projects and collaborations with artists across genres. In particular, his mastery of krumping helped him make a name for himself both as a performer and an innovator.
Yet, Edson’s dance story didn’t stop there. Fueled by an ever-present hunger to grow, he returned to another great love: salsa dancing. With his deep technical understanding and experience in body control, musicality, and movement, Edson found a natural fit in Salsa On2 (NY Style) — a style known for its flow, precision, and expressive rhythm.
Today, Edson brings his rich dance background, technical insight, and passion for teaching to students of salsa, bachata, urban kizomba, and tarraxo. His eye for detail, ability to explain complex techniques in simple terms, and personal approach make him the ideal mentor for anyone looking to grow as a dancer — from beginners to advanced.
